Postdoc in Behavioural Ecology

About Me

I am a behavioural ecologist with a particular interest in avian chemical communication. My research combines chemical analyses, multivariate statistics and behavioural experiments to investigate whether and how birds use odours in various contexts, such as mate choice, parent-offspring recognition, camouflage and predator deterrence.

New paper!

During the conference Behaviour 2023 organised in Bielefeld, we conducted a study on Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI). This important work was lead by Rebecca Chen and many colleagues contributed, and is now out in Ecology & Evolution.

Talk and visit at Vogelwarte

I had the pleasure to visit Giulia Masoero and Pierre Bize at the Swiss Ornithological Institute (Vogelwarte) in Sempach, Switzerland. I was also able to give a talk and join the fantastic field teams working on barn owls and alpine swifts.

Successful fieldwork in Croatia

Three weeks of fantastic lizard fieldwork! With Isabel, Laurence and Sean, we captured and sampled 250 lizards from both urban and wild locations in Croatia.

New paper!

Our study on the chemical signatures of pied flycatchers is out in Journal of Avian Biology! Congrats to Laurence for turning her Master thesis into a beautiful publication, well done!
